Extensions

Here are some examples of our extensions work:

Buckhurst Hill, Essex, Extension.

This project involved building a single storey extension on the back of the property. The extension comprised of a kitchen dining room and a downstairs bathroom. We also created the decking area in garden. The room with skylights required steel configuration to create the roof space, a structural engineer was involved for the loading calculations for the steelwork.

The client had arranged plans and building permission. We liaised with building control through to completion. This project presented a few interesting moments. In addition to the extension, we also found that we needed to do a full rewire of the house. The wiring was so old that much of it was still covered with original rubber sheathing.

The initial contact for this project was made when we were building an extension for a neighbour. We eventually built extensions for a total of four houses in this road in Buckhurst Hill.

Scotland Road, Buckhurst Hill, Essex, Extension

In this extension project we created the ultimate loft conversion. We received many plaudits for our work here – even from council officers…!

The conversion will accommodate comfortably three double beds, and one gable end is constructed entirely from glass, giving magnificent views of Buckhurst Hill.

The work on this three storey house included the loft conversion, a kitchen extension, and a bedroom creation. We did a full electrical rewire and a new boiler and heating system installation. The work done on this house effectively doubled the size of the property. We also creatively landscaped the extensive garden.

The client’s architect’s drawings for the extension would not work. For the extensive steelwork involved, a structural engineers calculations were required. These were based on the drawings, and so were also incorrect. To resolve the issue, we redesigned the extension work and the structural engineer re calculated based on our drawings.
